This section contains Windows GUI front-ends for vmdk disk mounting utilities.
VMware DiskMount GUI
VMware DiskMount GUI is a windows GUI front-end for VMware's drive mapper.
Note: this front-end is for the separate download 'VMware-Mount-5.0.0-13124.exe' installer (or VMware-mount-5.5.0-18463.exe), NOT the vmount.exe which comes with VMware Workstation! Note also: This should work with the new DiskMount included with VMware Server.

VMX Utilities:
This section contains Windows applications for creating and editing virtual machine configuration files.
VMX Builder
VMX Builder is an application for creating vmx (VMware virtual machine configuration) and vmdk (VMware virtual hard disk) files.
Caution! Physical disk creation is in Beta test!
Note: ESX Server information in here for completeness only. This is very early information, and is not fully implemented!!
Please send any bug reports to my email, with Subject "VMX Builder Bugs".
Translators needed... if you download the string files, in the zip is an Excel spreadsheet "Strings.xls". The 2nd sheet has the translation tables, and the 1st sheet is a reference to where the strings are shown. Add your translations for any new language in new columns to the right on Sheet 2, and email me the updated spreadsheet. Thanks

If running on a PC without any VMware product installed, you will need to have Qemu-img.exe (included), fsz.exe (included) and contig.exe from sysinternals.com in your path.

New!! How to install/run on a Linux host via WINE (care of Christian Herndler; tested with Ubuntu 7.04 and Wine 0.9.33):
- 1. Install the CoreFiles --> "wine CoreSetup.exe"
- 2. Install VMX Builder --> "wine VMXBuilderSetup.exe"
- 3. Install winetricks --> "wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks"
- 4. Use winetricks to install 3 requirements:
- 4a. Dcom98 --> "sh winetricks dcom98"
- 4b. VC6-Redist --> "sh winetricks vcrun6"
- 4c. Windows Scripting Host 5.6 --> "sh winetricks wsh56"
- 5. Register VMComps dll --> "wine regsvr32 VMComps.dll"
- Run and enjoy!
Time Machine
Time Machine is a helper application to calculate the RTC time (and offset), used to always start a virtual machine at a specific date/time.
